Hillsong & Hudson's

I had one of the best Sunday's EVER this week. I woke up to amazing sunny Cape Town weather (even though it's winter), I got to go to Hillsong Church with my lecturer Sarah, her husband Casey and their adorabley cute daugther Kieran, AND I got to go to lunch at this really rad burger joint called Hudson's with them and some of their lovely friends. Jealous yet?

The church was HUGE and filled with people who are on fire for God and who just, plain and simply, love Jesus. The worship was so cool and vibey and the message was super interesting. It was definitely something new for me, but I would go back in a heart beat!

The burger joint we went to for lunch, which is on Kloof Street, was so rad too! Another first for me :) It's a very chilled but super cool place. They have all kinds of burgers on the menu from your regular beef and chicken, to chickpea, ostrich, and even lamb burgers.
They also have an interesting selection of milkshakes on the menu... which I didn't get to try... but I heard Casey say that they were some of the best milkshakes, and I trust his word :)
Another thing that deserves a mention is the Hudson beer. Apparently (and I had 3 people say this at lunch) it is the best beer EVER. haha!
THIS PLACE IS DEFINITELY WORTH A TRY!

And lastly, what made my day super special was the combination of the above two and then also the Prince family (Sarah, Casey & Kieran). They are such a warm and welcoming family who have such an incredibly huge heart for people! Love being around them and soaking up all there positive energy!

I put some pictures below so that you can picture this amazing day too!

True Love

I was watching S.A. Idols on TV yesterday after an extremely stressful day, and although I don't usually waste my time watching Idols, it seemed to be the only half decent thing on TV (It was either this or Dr.Phil).
Anyways, there was this one guy who was an okay singer in my opinion, but the song he sang had such intriguing lyrics. So I listened intently, and not to be all "I'm so talented", but I have this strange ability to pick up songs and their lyrics quite easily after just one listen. So I did this and then went on youtube to find the actually singer, who turned out to be Phil Wickham. I googled the lyrics and read through them... I listened to the song on youtube, and BAM, I was hooked.

The lyrics are so intense and speaks a lot of truth, and that is exactly the kind of thing I like. I just love it when the song just touches my soul and causes my emotions and heart to just FEEL, and this was exactly what this song did.

So for all you people that love music that has a deep and meaningful aspect to it, give this a listen and maybe read the lyrics too. So amazing!

LOVE IT!! Andrew and I have been singing it the whole evening : )

Here it is:

Lyrics are as follows:

TRUE LOVE – PHIL WICKHAM

Come close listen to the story
About a love more faithful than the morning
The Father gave His only Son just to save us

The earth was shaking in the dark
All creation felt the Fathers Broken Heart
Tears were filling Heaven's Eyes
The day that True Love died, the day that True Love died

When blood and water hit the ground
Walls we couldn't move came crashing down
We were free and made alive
The day that True Love died, The day that True Love died

Search your heart you know you can't deny it
Come on, lose your life just so you can find it
The Father gave His only Son just to save us

The Earth was shaking in the dark
All creation felt The Fathers broken heart
Tears were filling Heaven's Eyes
The day that True Love died, the day that True Love died

When blood and water hit the ground
Walls we couldn't move came crashing down
We were free and made alive
The day that True Love died, The day that True Love died

Now, Jesus is alive
Jesus is alive
Jesus is alive
Jesus is alive
Jesus is alive
Oh, He is alive
He rose again

When blood and water hit the ground
Walls we couldn't move came crashing down
We were free and made alive
The day that True Love died, The day that True Love died

Come close listen to the story

Local is Lekker :)

A while ago (2 months to be exact), Andrew and I went to the Hout Bay Market on Sunday and we came across an extremely talented photographer. Although I did not have the privilege of buying one of his awesome photographs which were so beautifully displayed in old-looking wooden frames, I did manage to get his business card . I totally forgot I had it but when snooping around for some inspiration for this blog I discovered it in my wallet...
and voila!
Inspiration hit me right in the face!
I stalked his website and saved some pictures which are nicely displayed below.
Love this guy and his brilliant work!

Beautiful Cape Town (at least I think it is!)

Muizenberg Beach

This reminds me of my late grandpa. He used to be a fisherman.

LOVESONG

I found a cover of one of my favourite songs of ALL time and at first I was a bit sceptical because this is actually THE CURE and I absolutely loved this song for AGES!!!!! But after listening to this version by Adele a few times (try four!) it actually started to grow on me. She is, after all, an incredible singer and I have her first album (which I ADORE). So here is both of them for you to enjoy and to form your own opinion:
